Twitter Comedian Announces Presidential Campaign

(New York, NY) –Billionaire satirist Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President of the United States of America this morning in a press conference at one of his properties in New York City.  The well-known comedian is best known for his Twitter account, which has long been identified as the perfect modern example of satire, where one cannot tell if it is serious or not.

“This race is already kind of insane with Ted Cruz running.” He told the assembled reporters, “my goal here is not to try to out-crazy Cruz, I don’t think that’s possible.  That guy will always take it a step further.  So no.  I intend to hold up a mirror to America through this electoral process, and show the people how insane it is from the inside.”

Mr Trump cites Jon Stewart, John Oliver, and Stephen Colbert as large influencers on his decision to run.

“What those guys have done with their shows is nothing less than staggering.  They are truly masters.  I just hope that my project will serve America a fraction as much as theirs have.”  He said, clapping his hands into a prayer position and bowing his head slightly.
